Grey blending is a customized color technique designed to soften the contrast between your natural grey hair and your existing color. Instead of completely covering the grey, highlights, lowlights and dimensional color are strategically placed to work with your natural pattern. The result is a softer grow out that can feel more natural and lower maintenance than traditional grey coverage.

GREY BLENDING FOR DARK HAIR & BRUNETTES

Grey blending doesn't have to mean going blonde.

For brunettes and clients with darker hair, grey blending is about creating the right amount of dimension while maintaining depth. Depending on your natural grey pattern, existing color and long term goals, I may use a combination of highlights, lowlights and customized toning to soften the contrast between darker hair and incoming grey.

If you've been covering your greys with permanent color, the transition may take more than one appointment. The goal is to gradually create a softer, more blended result while maintaining the integrity of your hair.

How often does grey blending need to be touched up?

There isn't one maintenance schedule that works for everyone. How often you need a grey blending appointment depends on your natural grey pattern, starting color, the technique used and how much regrowth you're comfortable with.

Many of my grey blending clients are able to go several months between larger appointments because the color is designed to grow out softly rather than leave a harsh line of demarcation. Your maintenance plan will be customized around your hair and your goals.
